Our Mission – Looking Forward

Strategic Operational Plan 2018 – 2021

Bastion Foundation, Inc: Touching Lives

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide essential resources and support to homeless individuals in Middle Tennessee, empowering them to rebuild their lives and to provide resources to young widows and orphans in Nigeria

Our Vision

We envision a world where every person has access to shelter, food, and the opportunity for a brighter future

Our Objectives

  1. To provide no less than 10,000 meals to homeless people in Nashville over the next five years
  2. To provide financial support to, at least 250 young widows in southeastern Nigeria for petty businesses over the next 5 years
  3. To provide scholarships to, at least 200 orphans to enable them become self-reliant over the next 5 years

The Objectives of Our Goals

Goal 1 Objectives – Middle Tennessee

  1. To build relationships and bridge the gaps between immigrant Churches/Ministries and American churches/ministries in keeping with the teaching in Ephesians 2:19: “You are no longer strangers or foreigners, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of the household of God.” The African community churches want to reach out to their brothers and sisters in Christ. They need American churches/ministries for encouragement and support in their church programs. Empowerment and leadership training for pastors and church workers are also needed in the churches to help in the advancement of the kingdom of God.
  2. To organize annual “Praise the Lord” music concerts; a form of family of God Reunion in pursuit of the teaching in 2 Chronicles 5:13: The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang: “He is good; his love endures forever.” The purpose of the concert is to praise God, bring the African and American churches together. The concert will have a choir comprising of both African and American churches. It will also feature the African children choir from all the participating African churches
  3. To organize Spiritual Empowerment workshops/Prayer meetings in keeping with the teaching in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”. The workshops will address the spiritual growth of women, men, youths and family. A Youths Christ Ambassadors Association will be established.
  4. To solicit Speaking engagements in pursuit of the teaching in Psalm 22:22: “I will praise you to all my brothers; I will stand up before the congregation and testify of the wonderful things you have done”. I will talk about my life experiences. I will give testimony as a living witness of God’s mercies, miracles and favor.

Goal 2 Objectives – International

  1. To organize Youth’s empowerment workshops. As they say, an idle mind is the devil’s workshop. As in many parts of the world but more critical in Nigeria, unemployment due to graft in public officials have caused youth graduates to turn to crimes and other bad behaviors. This program will introduce them to Christ as their personal savior and help guide them to more gainful vocational occupation.
  2. To execute an adapted micro-financing scheme for young widows with our “Food on the table project” which provides funds ($100.00) for small scale business (petty trading) to support a decent Christ-filled living by the widows who would otherwise turn to prostitution and enhance the spread of STD including HIV-AIDS. The project provides for monitoring and follow-ups
  3. To provide educational scholarship of $100.00 each for the children of widows and orphans from disease devastated families. This will also curb morality issues and save the orphans from abuse.
  4. To organize specialty medical missions specifically to remove ovarian cysts and fibroid. These painful diseases have become a scourge in young women in the area and improve the chances of young women in child-bearing and enhance their standing in their communities which would, otherwise stigmatize them.
