Program Description: Supporting Young Widows in Southeastern Nigeria this 2024 Christmas Season This Christmas season, Bastion Foundation, Inc. is proud to launch an initiative aimed at empowering young widows in Southeastern Nigeria. Widows in this region face significant challenges, from food insecurity to limited economic opportunities, compounded by socio-political discrimination and cultural stigmatization. Through this program, we aim to bring hope and transformation by addressing their immediate needs while providing sustainable solutions for long-term empowerment. Our mission is rooted in the belief that every widow deserves dignity, security, and the opportunity to rebuild her life with resilience and purpose. Key Components of the Program: Food Relief: Providing Christmas food hampers to ensure that widows and their children experience the joy of the season without worrying about their next meal. Micro-Business Grants and Training: Equipping widows with the skills and resources needed to start small businesses, fostering economic independence and self-reliance. Community Support: Creating a network of encouragement and spiritual renewal, anchored in the love of Christ, to help widows overcome emotional and societal challenges. This initiative not only addresses the urgent needs of food and livelihood but also works toward restoring hope and dignity, empowering widows to take control of their futures.
